Swami Rama was born in India in 1925 and was raised by his spiritual Master in the legendary caves of the Himalayan mountains, where it is still practiced a method of teaching in which knowledge is handed down from master to student for over 3,000 years.

For three years he held the post of Shankaracharya of Karvipitham (high office is similar to the Pope for the Catholic religion), who left to serve humanity. The desire for worldly pleasures, leading to the reincarnation of the self, can be overcome through knowledge and the disappearance of desires leads to immortality. The immortality of the self can be achieved through meditation on the scientific technique of Kriya Yoga: This is the paradise within.

Sandra - A very common question: what 'death?

Paramaham sa Prajnanananda - Death is not the end of an individual, just as birth is not the beginning. What then is death? The event of death means that the Self (along with the subtle body that includes the mind with all its impressions) leaves the physical body at that time and the mental impressions become the seeds of future births. To decide on the future birth is the last thought that emerges before his death, because every thought, and therefore also the last, is shaped by the prevailing desires in life, so the desires are the root of birth and death.

Sandra - What hides our reality?

Paramahamsa Prajnanananda - The different waves that arise in the memory (chitta) hide the self, but you can hear a faint reflection of the self in these waves that cover it. These waves are samskaras (the sum of the impressions of our past actions). The true nature of the self can not be achieved as long as it remains just one wave in the lake of memory, chitta. Once all the waves subside, the yogi reaches nirvikalpa samadhi or the state of absence of karmic seeds, a level which can be reached when the shares are no longer included in the subconscious impressions and therefore cease to be links. In this state all the veils are lifted, we perceive the Self that shines in your own glory, and we understand that is not an aggregation of elements, but the basis of being eternal. As ever, the Self can not be born or die, is immortal, indestructible, imperishable is the essence of intelligence.

The mystery of life and death
Since its beginning, mankind has always faced the problem of death and consequently carefully evaluated the mystery of life is that of death. We were born to run out of karma and reap what we sow. The law of karma keeps us tied to the wheel of life and death, but it can also free us from the cycle of rebirth and death. Karma keeps us imprisoned until

Different types of Yoga The word yoga comes from Sanskrit root yuj, which means "unite". The science of yoga teaches the method to fuse the individual will with the cosmic will, controlling the mind and its transformations, in order to achieve liberation. On the physical yoga gives health and physical fitness; port on the mental concentration, mental balance and peace on the spiritual level, to ensure the liberation from the chain of births and deaths, gives eternal joy, immortality, perfection and peace everlasting. The ultimate goal of yoga is not simply an individual achievement, but the transformation of the whole human race: yoga tends to instill life and divinity in physical, mental and spiritual of mankind. Yoga has several branches called Raja Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Mantra Yoga, Laya Yoga, Dhyana Yoga, and many others, but the Kriya Yoga is the essence of all forms of yoga. [...]

Kriya Yoga
The difference between the Kriya Yoga and other traditional practices is similar to the difference between the prescription of a qualified doctor and the care of an empirical praticone village. The austerity and meticulous methods of pain associated with many traditional forms of yoga, are totally absent. This spiritual practice taught by my teachers (Acharyas) and promulgated by Lahiri Mahasaya is best for people who lead a family life. The simple and easy control of breathing restores lost balance and prepares the way for the construction, but requires the guidance of a realized master. The pure oxygen that is introduced through this breathing method purifies the inner workings of the body, activates the limbs, stimulates the appetite, gives strength and freshness to the body, mind, memory, patience and subtlety. Simultaneously purifies the body, mind, intellect and
life, but does not require dietary restrictions. The regular practice of Kriya allows the body to experience the divine feeling, hearing the sound of om, feel the vibration and the light of divinity;
helps to elevate the mind to an awareness that transcends the mind. This is not to recite the mantra special efforts are made to either hold your breath. Yoga is a very simple, the high road in any religion, the quickest way to achieve success, with a mathematical precision of results. Kriya Yoga is easy, inexpensive and safe. The technique can be practiced without any restriction based on caste, creed, sex or age: even a seventy can draw great benefits, it allows to keep the brain healthy, sharp mind and intellect ready. Surely
Kriya Yoga brings a message of hope to those who are hopeless, joy to the sorrowful, to force those who are weak of understanding, peace, power and deliverance to those who dedicate themselves to spiritual life.
If these benefits and manifestations of divine powers are not achieved after practicing the technique, it is clear that this was not the authentic Kriya. [...]

Twenty-five elements of each human body
Every human body is composed of twenty-four elements of nature (Prakriti) and one cosmic element, which is the soul (purusha). The twenty-four elements of nature are: •
five organs of perception (jñanendriyas): eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin;
• Five types of perceptions that come from mobile of the five senses: sound, sight, smell, taste and texture;
• five organs of action (karmendriyas): speech (Vak), hand (bread), leg (pada), rectum (Payu) and genitals (upastha)
• five subtle elements (tattva ): earth (Prithivi), water (PASA), fire (agni), air (vayu) or empty ether (akasha);
• inner four instruments: mind (manas), intellect (buddhi), ego (Ahamkara) and consciousness (chitta), with which we perceive natural phenomena.
The aggregate of these twenty-four gross elements is called prakriti. [...]

Arie vital chakra

For every thought changes the vital air (prana), the pace and quality of inspiration. In the body there are fifty types of vital airs, but the Yoga Shastra are classed into five main categories: apana, samana, vyana, prana and udana. In the centers of the coccyx and sacrum is apana, samana in the center back, center back vyana; udana prana in the center neck and neck above the center.
Air we inhale is called prana, but when it enters the lungs is called vyana. During the sexual act and the heartbeat speeds up this type of breathing is vyana. After eating, we have a special breathing, specific stage of digestion, called samana that helps us to assimilate and digest food. Sometimes we feel the air moving and this is called samana. Following the air enters the colon and is expelled from the anus: this air is called apana or Anila. During meditation, when we reached the stage of Paravastha, inhalation and exhalation become very feeble, and this type of breathing helps us to see the three divine qualities throughout the body is the breath that gives peace, divinity and temperance. Enter the skull and the pituitary is called udana. Prana is the king of all the tunes, because without inhaling the body can not live. Prana is divided into five major air and then again in fifty categories. [...]

Pandit Tigunait is the successor of Swami Rama, one of the great gurus of the second half of the twentieth century, at the head of the Himalayan Institute. If
Swami Rama was a man of great charisma that has made known to as few yoga origins of the Western world, Pandit Tigunait presents itself as a modern man, a scholar of ancient texts (he has two doctorates, one in Sanskrit in India and another a philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania), normal family man who had to collect the precious heritage of 'institution created by his master.

How the mind creates the Karma

According to the science of yoga, all that exists in the universe, including the mind, originates from the energy of primordial nature, prakriti. Prakriti is eternal and all-pervasive and is the cause of the manifest world, never born, is the Mother of all the universe and everything exists in it. The energy of prakriti, for example, is more refined electricity, magnetism and gravity (according to the science of yoga these forces belong to the manifest world and have absolutely no energy, but subtle forms of matter). Prakriti has three intrinsic qualities: sattva, rajas and tamas.Quando prakriti as it is not obvious, these internal forces are in balance, and when they are out of balance, Mother Nature (prakriti), occurs.
In the event, each element is composed of sattva, rajas Tamasin varying degrees. Sattvaè strength characterized by light; lighting, movement upward, clarity and purity.
Rajas is the force of: movement, instability, agitation and pulsation. Tamas the power of darkness, heaviness, inertia, downward movement, confusion, laziness and lack of enthusiasm. Sattvae tamasappaiono opposites, while withholding the power of rajas and animation, in fact, thanks to rajas, the vibrations are characteristic of prakriti.
Instead of vibrations evident in the material world, the vibration in prakriti has neither a cause nor a means by which vibrate. As long as Sattva, Rajas Tamas are in equilibrium, the basic principle of vibration remains static equilibrium is disturbed when, following a primordial explosion of all the pairs of opposites, which makes the objective world emerges in all its diversity.
Mind, the cosmic and the human - is the first to emerge from immobility of prakriti, the material world, therefore, evolves from the mind. According to yogic doctrine of evolution, a result must contain all the qualities and characteristics of the case - and it is not possible to have qualities or characteristics that are not already in it. Since
prakriti is the mother of the mind, the mind is composed of three forces inherent in these qualities of Mother Nature prakriti.Se reach a state perfect balance, the mind will no longer exist as such, but will be immersed in prakriti. However, until there is a mind, these three forces can not be balanced. The nature of mind is therefore to be dominated by sattva rajas or tamas, while the other two forces remain subordinate.
The game of these three qualities makes the mind, constantly moving from one state to another, is therefore changeable, and it is for this reason that does not always work in a balanced way. The mind can be
alternately distracted, focused, disturbed or completely controlled.

The journey to heaven or hell

According to ancient texts, death is a systematic process in which the period before the exact time is crucial at this point because we are the messengers of Yamaraja, the god of death. However, anyone who has totally surrendered and gave up too all the wishes, thoughts, feelings, losses and gains to God, is visited by the messengers of the Divine, very different from those of the god of death.
With the exception of those fortunate beings, all who are about to die must obey the orders of the messengers of Yamaraja.
Like it or not, and if we leave the body - for fear, too much attachment or because of unfulfilled desires - oppose resistance, Nature alleerà with the messengers of death and make us out by force. Then, accompanied by envoys of these Yamaraja, we will come to a large river inhabited by millions of different creatures: crocodiles, fish, dolphins, sharks and even cows amphibious. To cross the river there are specific points where it's easy to ford, but we will be abandoned with no education: the messengers remain on shore and we will try to cross the river alone.
The river is deep and they're swimming, we will be forced to face the creatures that live there. During the trip, anything can happen - the water could be contaminated, we may be overwhelmed by the current or chased by a crocodile, the risk of drowning and being driven back to the surface by the attentions of a big fish, maybe a shark tear us a piece of meat, and we might see friends or relatives who sink or swim close to us. If we are lucky, the messengers will leave us in a place where cows are very intelligent who can swim: we grab the tails of these experts to ferry to carry us safely to the other side of river.

Reincarnation

As discussed above, those who dedicate themselves to acquire the knowledge of the purpose of life, puts his heart and mind in a discipline, sadhana, is blessed with a higher form of rebirth: reincarnation. Even those who die before completing the practical, is reincarnated in a suitable family to spiritual growth. If for some reason, these souls are reincarnated in a non-human species, however, maintain a higher IQ of their kind and, in some cases, even the memories of past lives. The following story of Srimad Bhagavatham explains the process of reincarnation and what conditions require.
There once was a great yogi named Bharata. Satisfied within, Bharata lived retired to a hermitage near a stream. One day, a doe that was about to give birth, came to drink from the river, but suddenly, sensing the presence of a tiger, he tried to jump the river to save themselves; Unfortunately, however, fell mortally injured. In the last throes before death
gave birth to a little fawn that Bharata, taken by a deep compassion and tenderness, he adopted.
The saint became attached to the lovely puppy and raised him with love as if he were a child, and the deer, living always in the company of Bharata, he soon lost his natural instincts and became totally dependent on the hermit. Unfortunately, after a few months Bharata became very ill and knowing how to voluntarily leave the body - which avoids the journey of the after-life - he was so worried about what would happen to his beloved fawn, which at the time of his death mind is absorbed only in thoughts of how he would survive in his absence the animal. His attachment had made him so confused and weak, that he forgot even to leave the body consciously and died like any other person ... and reincarnated in a young stag.
However, since he could remember his previous life, Bharata did not end up living a life like every other instinctive deer: eat right to support the body and was not afraid of predators. He felt no regret has been reborn as a deer, and since he spent his time in contemplation, he soon realized his error: the difference between the feeling of compassion and sentimentality, in which he had fallen. When
realized that his life as a deer was now finally decided to voluntarily leave the body. Even if he remembered the technique he had learned when he was a yogi, as the deer could not use it, and then - instead of following the path known as muni-anced put into practice the technique of total fasting until he left the body.
Soon after, the sage is reincarnated as a human being and this time had all the tools and resources needed to reach the most coveted goal of human life: a healthy body and mind to practice of yogic techniques and a suitable environment to implementation.
The circumstances made him free from all worldly commitment when he was still very young and immediately after giving the world, received the grace to become a sage. For the substance of his sadhana, transcended the consciousness of the body and after getting the perfect control of every mental faculty, went well beyond the stages of prevailing law of karma, destiny, death and birth.
In this story we can see perfectly how the dynamics of reincarnation. Bharata, being a sage, he was free from almost all of its karma, but shortly before his death had made
action that had made him forget everything he knew. He had saved the deer in an altruistic impulse, but by identifying with this action, he had damaged and contaminated
value. Moreover, its involvement Emotional led him to worry too much, forgetting that it was God as it was to save the little deer - using himself as an instrument - even
after death, God would provide: the presence of an omnipresent God, no creature is alone and defenseless.
